The characters of the film have told us the contemporary Belfast since the first barbed wire set up by the English army, at the Peace Walls that overlook several neighborhoods of the city. Between the two eras, a war. Attacks, assassinations, prison, hunger strikes, the dead.
The peace agreements of 98 had announced the end of the walls for the years 2020.
Today the walls are not about to fall. Even if yesterday’s enemies try to build a future peace.
Communities still live separately: Protestant working-class neighborhoods near Catholic working-class neighborhoods. Loyalists close to the Republicans.
